Hi,

I'm a PR Family Class applicant applying outland through London VO and I arrived in Canada at the end of August. Kind of assumed I would get my PR by the end of the year, but now I seem to be running out of my visitor status next month and no PR in sight. I did my medicals at the end of 2013 and as per GCMS they are valid until 21 January 2015. Should I just toss in my extension application together with this medical even though it might expire in couple of weeks? I asked LVO if they are going to extend my medicals, but they only replied to me by saying they will be contacting me this year if they need it re-done.

Thnx in advance for any input!

I think it would be best to apply for an extension, if they need you to do another medical they will let you know. I wouldn't go through any unncessary costs. Given your application is now heading towards a year it might be worthwhile requesting your GCMS notes to see what the hold up is.

Thnx and I guess we'll start applying!

Oh I have been requesting GCMS throughout the last 6 months and I've only seen progress in August when they started my criminality. Eligibility recommend passed and I have never received any requests. Don't know why it is taking so long, I haven't been living in any other country than my own and Canada, and I have a pretty unique name to be mixed with some super criminal. Ppl know that my spouse and I usually have a very rotten luck with these things and they've been already joking that LVO probably lost my application and it's just gathering dust in the janitor's closet. A bit frustrating when you don't know what's going on, we even had to postpone my spouse's studies because he has to support us both for the time being. Sorry for ranting, I'm just going crazy between four walls!
