There’s a blank on the visitor extension application for most recent entry into Canada, and above that a blank for original entry into Canada. How far back do they want to go for original entry? It was October of 1975. I was seven years old. My family went for a long weekend.

This is a serious question though. How far back should I go? In 2016 I started seeing the woman who is now my wife and I went to Montréal to visit her a few times while she lived there. Is that a more useful original?

No, original is just that, original. Nothing wrong with it being in 1975.

Hello,

When filling out the visitor extension application for Canada, the requirement for the "original entry into Canada" typically refers to the first time you entered the country. In your case, since you first entered Canada in October 1975, that would be the appropriate date to provide for the original entry.

While your visits to Montreal in 2016 are relevant and could demonstrate a continuing connection to Canada, it would not be considered the "original entry" that they are asking for on the application form. Therefore, it is recommended to provide the date of your first entry into Canada in 1975. MyMileStoneCard
