What do I do about my pending visitor extension I submitted? I'm hoping I can land this month/early September. I don't think I'll get the extension approved soon since they were just working on March applications recently I believe.
How do I cancel it and can I get my money back?

Bump. Stupid spam pushing our posts down...

When did you apply? Online?

Best wishes,

Congratulations on your DM. Been following the September thread and was happy you finally got word. I think once you receive COPR and go to land bring proof you submitted the extension. Once you land perhaps you can cancel the extension and get a refund. If I'm wrong hopefully a more knowledgeable member will chime in. :)

From the instruction guide:

Refunds

To obtain a refund, you need to send a written request to withdraw your application to the processing centre at CPC Vegreville, 6212-55th Avenue, Vegrevile, Alberta, T9C 1W5.

The processing fee is only refundable if we receive your request before processing has begun. Once we have started to process your application, there will be no refunds regardless of the final decision. We will issue the refund to the person indicated on the “Payer Information” section of the receipt. If there is no name indicated on the receipt, we will send the refund to you.

It also wouldn't hurt to contact the call centre to see if you can advise them of your intent to withdraw. Might not affect things, but it can't hurt.

Also, congratulations on the DM!

Interesting. I have the exact same situation but figured it was likely non-refundable and haven't done anything about it. It was only $100. I'm guessing there isn't a refund capability.

Thanks! :) I will contact them Tuesday... they won't be open tomorrow bc of the civic holiday correct?

Seems there is! I wish they made it easier though.., haha

Thanks for the information. I'll try to get my $100 back as I'm sure I can find a better use for it. I applied in the beginning of June as well.

Hopefully they refund us! Good luck! :)
