Hello! So I have a situation that I'm probably overthinking about. I submitted my second visitor extension since I am submitting my PR/Spouse sponsorship application in a few days and I wanted to have legal status while waiting for application to process. I was stupid and forgot to put the receipts showing we paid all the fees for the PR/Spouse sponsorship app to show we are serious about it. I did put my wife's original and signed letter from work stating her daily work hours and pay so there's no issue with the financial part. I am worried they are going to deny it because I didn't upload the receipts even though I know it's not a "requirement" to send them but I know it helps the situation. If they reject it but my PR application goes through just fine then what happens? I am so worried about all this. :(

As long as you have enough other supporting stuff (which it seems you do) I think you'll be okay.

If you applied for an open work permit with your PR application, as long as your application package doesnt get sent back for missing documents (and as long as you send it prior to your current status expiring) then you will have implied status until a decision is made on your work permit, so if your extension is denied you'll at least be able to stay until then.

Yes I sent the PR/Open work permit application together last week which is well before my status expires (Nov 1st) and I triple checked everything in the package before sending it off so hopefully it doesn't get sent back. If the extension AND the OWP somehow both get denied, would i be able to apply for restoration of status?

As far as I know you should be fine to apply for restoration of status in that case, though I don't imagine you'd be successful. It would be different if they were both returned, but since the extension is related to your visitor status, if it is rejected you'll have a hard time proving why they should restore your visitor status. I haven't been on this forum long (<1 year) but in all my reading and searching through old posts I can't say I've ever seen that happen to someone. I think you're gonna be just fine :)

Thank you for your reassurance! It would just suck after spending over a year in Canada working on the PR application and gathering all the paperwork to having to go back to the states and start from scratch all over again and having to leave my wife for who knows how long :(
