Mom is on a visitor visa, her entry is valid fo 6 months until May2019. Would like to extend her visitor record until September 2019 , however have some questions.
"If you plan to stay for more than 6 months
You need a medical exam if you meet any of these criteria:
"If you are applying to become a temporary resident of Canada, you must have a medical exam if you:
- We would like to travel outside Canada for 1 week but we are only 2 months away until the 6 months of this entry. Is it wise to travel outside Canada and come back to say she would like to stay until September?
- If we travel outside Canada and come back will she require Medical Exams? Given that she went out before the 6 months. but coming back for 4-5 more months. Should we make the medical exams ahead before traveling and coming back?
- I understand that for stays longer than 6 months, a medical exam is required, however, reading further from CIC, medical exams are required only if the person meets the criteria below. Mom is not coming to work neither apply for parent and grandparent super visa. She lived in one of the countries below, but the country says NO for Inmmigratio Medical Required.

- You lived in one or more of these countries or territories for at least 6 months in a row within the last year
- You’ll come to Canada to work in a job in which public health must be protected (see jobs for which you need a medical exam)
- You apply for a parent and grandparent super visa
"If you are applying to become a temporary resident of Canada, you must have a medical exam if you:
- want to come to Canada for more than six months, and
- have lived or travelled for six months in certain countries or territories in the year before you come to Canada.
