Visitor applying for OWP

This is not possible. You are not eligible for an OWP from being a simple visitor. Visitor visa are normally only 6 months. If the immigration officer decides, this can be varied but is usually shortened rather than extended.Ashroop said:

Yes, this is for my spouse. The problem is we both wanna go together but I haven't received my study permit as yet (applied on June 3rd). We had a plan of applying for his OWP after I get my study permit. But I think this will not be possible anymore because as per CIC, processing time of OWP for India is approximately 4 months 
My course will start on August 25th which is just 2 months from now.
So I was wondering if he can accompany me as a visitor and then apply for OWP from within Canada/ :-X
