Visiting while PR application in process

I am British and have been with my Canadian partner for 3 years we lived in Canada for 1 year together.
I returned to the UK March 8th!
After I have done my medical and got my police check back we will be sending our application this should be by mid April.
I am thinking about visiting her for 3 weeks at the end of May as it will have been almost 3 months since we have seen each other.
Just a few questions..
What are the chances they will refuse me entry into Canada?
I will have a return ticket.. Is there any other evidence i can provide to prove i will return (personally the fact that i just payed $1500 for the application fees should be enough evidence that i will return to the UK and not ruin my chances of becoming a resident legally!)
Also would it show up on their system that i have applied for PR? Even only having actually sent the application 3-4 weeks before?

It just makes me nervous that the could refuse me entry and am trying to cover every possibility!

Thanks for all your help so far! I don't know what i would do without this forum! :)

My husband is British and he came over during the process to visit and stayed about 6 weeks.

There is always a risk you will get denied entry... however he brought stuff that proved he was going back... his exam timetable from uni as well as a copy of his lease agreement. They never asked for it, just let him in and said have a great christmas - but it's better safe than sorry :)

You'd be unlucky to get refused entry being from the UK. It's possible the application will show up on their system already when you enter and they scan your passport, so if they ask, what ever you do don't lie. If they don't ask, it's fine to just say you are visiting for a few weeks; no need to elaborate or mention the PR app unless they do! Carry proof you'll return to the UK, as much as possible, as well as proof of how you'll support yourself in Canada (e.g. a recent bank statement) and also a copy of the fees receipt for the PR application, just in case they ask about it and want proof that you're serious about becoming a PR. That combined with the return ticket, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Finally, have a read through OP11 section 5.4 on "dual intent". This is exactly what applies to your situation, and should give you a bit of reassurance that what you want to do is completely allowed. There is some discretion there, and they have to be convinced you are a genuine temporary resident, as well as wanting to become a permanent resident eventually, but you are allowed to want to visit while a PR applications is in process:

Gah, I can't post links, so you'll have to copy and paste this into your browser.
