if someone was granted a 6 months visitors visa to visit Canada can they leave for a week and come back during the 6 months or would they have to apply for a multiple entry?

For single visit visa, while valid, they can only do so if they travel between the US and Canada. That does not mean you cannot travel to other countries via the US, I guess.

that is correct. if the visa issued was for single entry only, then they have to apply for a new TRV for the next visit. they can apply for multiple entry if they have intentions of coming back and forth more often in the future.

hey people
In IMM5257 what is UCI?
UCI stands for “unique client identifier.” It is also known as a client identification number (client ID). It appears on official documents you get from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It has four numbers, a hyphen and four more numbers. (Example: 0000-0000).

If you are applying to CIC for the first time, you will not yet have a UCI. If so, and you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided.

If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to input “N/A,” leave the space blank.

No, you can only travel to the US and St. Pierre et Miquelon, and return within the validity of your original admission, if you travel to the US and then outside the US, you require a new TRV.

Thanks. I understand now.
