Visiting the US. What do I need to know? TY. :)

Hey everyone,
I'm visiting the US this second week of May. For the first time ever.
Just crossing the sweet grass border by car with my hubby and friends to visit Montana and do some shopping for a day or two.

I have a US b1/b2 visa, my passport and my PR card.

My PR application was inland so I did not have to flagpole, so this is literally my first time crossing to the Us border.

What are your guy's experience on this? Anything I need to remember to do and look out for?

Get some emergency travel medical insurance for a couple of bucks, if you don't have travel coverage already.

Nothing so special, unless you carry middle eastern citizenship,Cuban,Nigerian,Chinese and Indian, they will most likely ask you to park your car a side and go in the office to ask you few question such as your destination,where do you live,how long are you staying in US,and what do you do in Canada. Don't be terrified you will be fine, and please please please don't expect a Canadian attitude in there. In other words, you will certainly not see a smiley face welcoming you,don't be surprise if they call by your nationality not your name on the passport, and here is an example i witnessed ," hey you Chinese, come here ". the best way to deal with the customs officer is to relaaaaax ,think about something beautiful in your life and don't worry about the stupid questions that you may be asked.

Expect toll roads, so please have some US cash on you.If you don't have, there is a currency exchange store at the border.

The beauty about the roads is, there are so many service stations on the way.

Don't speed, stay at 110-120 max, there are many speed traps and remember you are carrying a Canadian license plate.So respect that.

Buying a medical insurance is a smart move, because you never know what may happen.

Thanks for the reminder about the medical insurance.

Just checked my hubby's medical benefits it has an out of country medical assistance as long as I bring the card and other stuff (survivor assistance.) I hope that's good enough.

Otherwise I got a quote from AMA, it was only $30 not including my AMA discount. So fairly inexpensive.

Certainly don't wish that they put me aside. I'll try my best to be calm. haha.

I'm Filipino, My hubby and our friends are as Caucasian as can be. haha. So I hope that helps.

Expect toll roads

There are no toll roads in Montana.
