My wife and I got married 26th July 2008.We submitted out sponsorship application Feb 21 2009.The status of our application thus far is that we have been approved for completeness by CPC Mississauga and our file has been now transferred to New Delhi.I am currently in India waiting for this process to complete.
However this could take 3-6 months atleast and I want to visit my wife. Can i apply for a visitors visa to go meet my wife. How long can i stay there with her.
Will this affect my PR process in Delhi.
2.If i do get a visit visa can i just stay with her in Canada and wait till my PR comes through.
3.Also i have been refused an application for work permit while i was in canada as a student. After which i voluntarily departed without overstaying.Does previous refusal records affect my application as a spouse or even to go on a visit to canada.
4.Is it safer just stying put in india for 4- 6 months and not going to see my wife.

Please advice.

Yes, it's possible to visit a spouse during the processing of a PR application, you just have to apply for a visitor VISA., & ask your wife to invite you with a letter But you cannot remain until the PR application is finished.

You need this:

1) proof that the visitor will leave Canada after the visit.
(Return ticket, job awaiting in Delhi, a bank statement from Delhi with a balance)

2) proof that the visitor will have enough money to cover the expenses of the visit.
(A letter of invitation from your spouse, dated recently, stating that your spouse will cover your entire expenses during stay, or a bank statement with a sufficient balance) Ask your wife to mention the length of your stay 1-2 month maximum!!!

That should do it,
I, however cannot be sure of your previous denial of a work permit, but just as long as you haven't over stayed, it should have no serious bearings, but without knowing the details, it's difficult to say.
Now, your most important point, is to show that you will not stay in Canada (get in & get out) & I'll advice to make it short Max 1-2 months (Cause you don't wanna miss important requests from the VISA office while in Canada, that can get you in trouble, so ask for someone to keep an eye on your MAIL)

Conditions & obligations as a VISITOR while PR is in process:

1) you will enter Canada as a visitor (with a maximum stay of up to 6 months)
2) you will have to leave Canada at the end of the visit in order to re-enter later as a Permanent resident (once PR visa is ready, they will cancel your visitor visa without prejudice, & put a PR visa for you to re-enter within the validity of the PR visa)
3) You must stay in Delhi for the purpose of staying in contact with the immigration office (they might need something from you, additional papers, check if you live there, attend an interview. that's important to not miss calls, letters, interviews or you could jeopardise your application ... ect.)

if you are not sure that you will be able to respect all these conditions, then the best option is still not to jeopardize your PR application: Wait in Delhi (if you can). or have her visiting you there!

Good luck.

Also get a letter from your employer in Delhi that you intend to return back for your work. I find it helps a lot.
Good luck!!!

Hello,
Good Day,
I am an Indian citizen and currently working in Qatar(middle east) for last five years. I like to visit my wife in Canada this annual vacation, who finished her studies last few months and got stay back there. I am planning to take 30 days leave to visit canda. (my company allows 30 days leave).
So what would be the best reason to mention in purpose of visit.
Your valuable informations are very helpful. Waiting for your reply.

Thanks and regards
