Hi there

I'm a south African I got married to a Canadian citizen in south African in 2017, my wife is 6 months pregnant and she give birth in April.

My wife left South African Almost 2 months ago I'm planing to visit my wife and meet her family for a period of 6 months if possible. I'm currently still working, I have work in the U.S and Canada in 2015 and 2016.

I will be staying with my wife at her mothers house, my wife's mother wrote me invitation letter that state I'll be lodging at her residence, she also wrote a prove of financial support letter that she will be paying for all my expenses while I'm in Canada, before I wanted to submitted my visa online there was a new document I needed, proof of financial resource support if I'm right its my mother in law's bank details to see if she is stable to support me ?

I'm planing if all my documents are good to departure the 27 January and return to south African on June . should I buy my flight ticket already to show CIC that I have a return ticket or no? The company where I work wrote me an reference I worked for the same company before I started working in U.S and Canada I have a good record at this company as they will give me my job back if I return from visiting Canada

Please read my letter and hope to here from you guys

Thank you

Do not buy a plane ticket. It is not required or a factor in approval.

Do not declare that you are visiting Canada for 6 months to see your wife and child. Big no-no.

You have to show you can afford to pay for the trip on your own even if your mother in law is.

To get approved for a TRV, you have to prove you are not trying to reside in Canada (or will leave Canada at the end of a short visit), and that you have ties in South Africa.
