I want to ask im nurse and want to know now i have visit visa what if i travel to nova scotia and find a job can i transfer it from visit to work ?

No you can’t. I think you have unrealistic expectation of being able to come to Canada as a visitor and get a job. Are you a licensed nurse in Canada? The process for an employer to apply for an LMIA and for an individual to apply for a work permit is often close to a year. If there are concerns that you are coming to Canada as a visitor trying to secure employment you can also be denied entry to Canada.

There is no process to transfer from visitor to work permit.

You also need to find a job and the employer needs to apply for LMIA and then with an approved LMIA one can apply for a closed work permit and it's taking very long time for both processes.

And to become a registered nurse in Nova Scotia is not simple.

Effective January, 20, 2025, the Expedited Pathway for IENs from Seven Designated Countries has been temporarily paused for new applicants. IENs seeking licensure with NSCN must first apply to NNAS via the traditional licensure process. More information on this pause can be found in our FAQ resource.

If you're in Canada on a visitor visa and get a nursing job in Nova Scotia, you cannot convert your visa to a work permit from inside Canada.

What You Need to Do:

  1. Get a Job Offer from an employer.
  2. Employer applies for LMIA (if not exempt).
  3. Apply for a work permit from outside Canada (e.g., your home country).
  4. Start licensing process via NNAS and Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN).

You can also explore the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) if you have a job offer.

Note: Visitor visa holders must leave Canada to apply for a work permit.
