Ok thanks. I just noticed that my status changed for the background Check where it now says "Not Applicable". Maybe because this is a TRV?

My sister and her family applied on May 30 thru vfs paper application, they already received correspondence letter informing about their biometrics yesterday. Praying for positive result.

Have you received the validity of biometric letter (correspondence letter)?

Don’t apply for Canadian TRV from Riyadh or Abu Dhabi, refusal rate is almost 95%.

That is right, be optimistic. My sister and her family got approved for one year visitor visa on 2016. And they applied again this May, planning to spend summer vacation here in Canada on July. Just waiting for the final decision hopefully within this week. Have faith!

That's interesting and makes sense. I submitted very solid TRV applications for me and my daughter and Abu Dhabi rejected it. We had everything in it.... extremely strong ties to Oman (Home ownership, my job, bank statements, next year's school fees paid for my daughter, my wife was staying back, etc..) and zero family ties in Canada with clear purpose of visit (summer pre-university 2-week program paid for at UBC).

Their passports with visa stamps delivered by Aramex just today. But they had different visa expiry dates, based on their passports validity.
Sister got 10 years visa, her husband and two kids got 2 and 3 years visa.

Timeline:
May 30 applied in VFS Abu Dhabi
June 23 correspondence letter
June 26 passports delivered

Don’t lose hope. Pray for positive outcome.
