I was wondering if I went to Canada on a visit visa while is was in the pool and start looking for jobs there. Since LMIA is no longer required with the new updates, are employers likely to offer jobs to people on visitors visa? This is only to get the additional 50 points.

Huh?

That's not how it works. You need a work permit with your employer's name on it AND work for a full year to get those 50 points.

Thanks for clearing that doubt. An agent told me that option and it sounded too good to be true.

You need to have Work Permit with employer on it, to be able to claim 50 points without LMIA, but to get WP with employer on it you need LMIA ;D

This is incorrect, there are valid work permits exempt from LMIA (NAFTA, ICT) that count towards the 50 points.

Cheers :)
