Hi everyone,

So i sent in my spousal sponsorship application april 2016, still waiting for a response, but last month september 2016, i applied for a visit visa to another country, and it was rejected, my question is, should i notify the CIC, or no need ?

Thanks lot.

You don't need to. The questions on the application about this are about refusals that occurred prior to the application. If there is an interview, they may ask you about this; in which case, just answer truthfully.

imm5669 Form there a question regarding your situation.
Say yes if you are refused before be truthful with your answer

At the time of visa application she didnot have a rejection so data of 5669 at that point in time was up to date and correct... the rejection came AFTER she sent the application and it was in process.. what to do in this case? :)

if the rejection came after the forms were filled out and submitted, there is nothing to do. the forms ask about information up to the date they are signed. whether a visitor visa was rejected after the fact is not relavant to the forms. also, since this isn't even a visa for canada, i'd highly doubt cic is going to care about it for application purposes. at this point, there is absolutely no reason to contact cic and complicate your application or notify them about every single event that has happened in your life since applying for PR. move on with your life and wait for cic to contact you about the next step in your application process.

Thank you for such a assuring and detailed response :) Im in the same boat to be honest :)

For the interview, you are to bring updated forms. I was refused TVR after original forms. To reflect this, I am including this in updated form.

There's no need to notify CIC unless you are asked explicityly if you've been denied a visitor visa. I know the IMM5669 form asks if you have ever been refused a visa and you would say yes to that if you have to fill the form out again. It does not affect your application if you have to check YES instead of NO(this depends on the reason why it was rejected,in most cases its not a big deal).

htquach is correct. You only need to inform CIC if you are required to attend an interview in which case you will need to supply new up to date forms reflecting the period of time between when you applied and when the interview is held.
