Just sharing the good news to everybody!

First, I filled up the forms here in Canada and sent it to my aunt to the Philippines via express post. Yes this is a paper application.

July 26th (Tuesday)- My aunt submitted my mom's application to VFS Manila.
August 2 (Tuesday)- Visa Issued
August 5 (Friday)- Passport delivered to our home

I was getting anxious about this application because I read a lot of threads about "mother visit visa application denied" or "refused." And they even showed bank account statements and $$$$$$$... I got worried because I didn't submit any bank account statements.. I don't even have savings at the moment. :p My mother is a retired University professor and she doesn't have savings either and only receiving monthly pension. About $300 every month.

Here are the documents I submitted:

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
FOR
MY MOTHER

MY MOTHER JUST SHOWED
1. Proof of Pension from Government Service Insurance System

ADDITIONAL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

FROM MY HUSBAND

1. Canadian Birth Certificate
2. Copy of Driver's License
3. Latest payslips (photocopies)
4. T4 slips (2014 and 2015)
5. Notice of assessments (2014 and 2015)
6. Proof of Pension
7. Employment Certificate

FROM ME:

1. Birth Certificate
2. PR card copy
3. Passport Copy
4. Latest Payslips (photocopies)
5. T4 slips (2014 and 2015)
6. Notice of assessments(2014 and 2015)
7. Employment Certificate

I also wrote a letter of invitation... and it is not the usual invitation letter.. I added some "flavor" to it. A little bit of drama :) ! And Thank God it helped! I also noticed that VFS Manila is not as strict as other Visa office. This is just my own opinion.

Hi. Thank you for posting this. I am also planning to invite my mom to come visit me here in Canada.

I think you posted your invitation letter somewhere in this forum but I lost the link to the thread. I have a question though. Since your mother was granted multiple entry visa, did you include in the letter the specific number of days of her stay here? I read others who posted here to make it short like 2 - 3 weeks and include it in the invitation letter.

Kind regards,
Jam

Here is the copy of the letter I submitted. I did not even mention the dates on the letter. But on the form, I just put 2 months visit. I also wondered why some people suggests 2-3 weeks but I think it depends on the Visa office. Canadian Embassy Manila from what I observed is not that strict especially with seniors. I also applied for my aunt in 2014 and did not mention any dates on the letter and I also put 6 months maximum on the form... it got approved as well.

Dear Visa Officer:

My name is ____________, a Permanent Resident of Canada with client ID number ______. I live with my husband _______, a Canadian and my son _________ at #________________________

I humbly ask that you accept this letter of invitation for my mother,_________, living at ___________________________. She is a retired University Professor and now receiving a monthly pension.

My mother _______, who is now 70 years old, is the one who worked so hard to provide for our family for many years. She is the one who made sure that there will be food on the table everyday. She is the one who sent not only me to school but also some of my cousins. I owe a lot from her and this trip is just one way of saying thank you for all her love, help and sacrifices.

One of my dreams for her is to travel and enjoy the beauty of Canada while she can. I want to show her the amazing places in Alberta. Places that she had only seen in postcards. I would like to take her to Jasper to see the breathtaking Athabasca Falls or experience the Columbia Icefield Glacier. It would really be awesome to take her to Banff for her to see the magnificent Lake Louise. It would also be nice if she can see the spectacular hoodoos in Drumheller. Making this possible for her through your help would really mean a lot.

My husband and I will be taking full responsibility for all the expenses such as her airfare ticket to/from Canada, accommodation (she will be staying with us), travel within Canada, food and any other necessities for the duration of her stay with us. We are aware and respect the temporary resident visa status and we offer our personal guarantee that my mother's visit to Canada will not exceed six months from the time of her arrival. Please see attached support documents for this application.

I hope you are right po sa observations niyo regarding Manila visa office and tourist visa applications from senior citizens.

Eto po situation ng mom ko. She is 50 years old (not yet senior citizen status) thus no monthly pension as income. Commission based income lang po siya kasi part-time agent siya sa isang real estate company. Ako naman po sa ngayon stay at home, pregnant (almost 7 months) at nag-aalaga sa anak (toddler). Here are the supporting documents that we gathered so far:

From my mom:

1. Letter of employment from real estate company
2. Letter of certification from her high school alumni club - She's an active member and their organization does annual medical missions, fundraising, provides financial support to children of batchmates via scholarships, community volunteer activities, etc.
3. Bank statements (6 months) - Mahina ang bentahan for the past months so not really a lot of bank transactions to be shown but she had a big transaction I think this July or August and that she will receive her commission by first week of September I'm not sure how much pero nasa Php100K - Php $150K. My mom told me she has another transaction sana po mag close asap.
4. Certificate of Title - Vehicle under mom's name
5. Copy of Rent Contract - She's renting her current home together with my dad. My younger brother and grandma (mom's side) live with them.
6. Passport, NSO birth certificate and marriage certificate

From my husband (scanned copies of):
1.) Citizenship Certificate/card
2.) Latest payslips
3.) T4 slips (2015)
4.) Notice of assessment (2015)
5.) Employment certificate
6.) Rent contract (proof of residential address)

From me (scanned copies of):
1.) Citizenship certificate
2.) NSO birth certificate
3.) BC Identification card
4.) NSO marriage certificate
5.) Letter of invitation (almost done writing it and we planned to have it notarized after)

We are applying online.

Grounds daw for overstaying.

I hope you could enlighten me what else is missing regarding her situation kasi first time niya mag apply for visa.

Yung parang pang Maalaala mo kaya... hehe! I haven't tried applying online ever.

Saka basta sa letter, ipromise niyo na you respect the TR status and she will not overstay. Tapos samahan mo ng prayers! When are you planning to apply? mabilis lang sa Manila.. My mom's application got approved after a week of submitting it.

Goodluck!

Hehe. Include ko na rin yung promise that she will not overstay and nirerespect namin ang TRV status. I will ask my mom later tonight about the option of sending it via mail and discuss if it's more comfortable for her. We thought kasi baka mas mabilis pag online application.

Siguro the earliest na mag-aaply siya mid or end of September pag ma receive na niya ang cheque ng commission niya and ma deposit sa bank. Yes, for sure pinagdadasal talaga namin na matuloy at pagbigyan ni Lord prayers namin. :) :)

I will update you right away once may results na after sending her application. Salamat talaga sa positivity that you sent it really made a huge difference sa pag shift ng vibes namin to a good one against sa anxiety that I get from reading too much on the negative comments sa ibang threads. And maybe I should really stop lurking on those. ;D ;D

Blessings and have a wonderful weekend to you and your family. :)

VFS- Manila is a third party. That is where you submit your application, they will check your forms and requirements. Then they will send it to the VISA OFFICE at RBC Plaza.

Hello! Yes I think it should be ok. Since it is your employer who will provide the invitation letter, it is important to mention that he/she is just inviting you to explore the beauty of Canada (strictly for tourism only). And your employer needs to mention that you are expected to go back to the Philippines since you are an asset in his/her company based in the Philippines. :)

HI PO... ask ko lang po mam...kasi i read your post about the TRV of your mom na naapprove po...Nag apply po ako last march 2016 po and got denied of my application...but anyway po ito po about sa akin...Im from Cebu, 29 yrs old and working in a bank for 7 yrs...My sister po ako na naka pag pangasawa ng canadian...and my sister's husband invited me to visit canada...and thier inviation letter stated and notarized na they will invite me to come to canada to show the beauty of canada..and since I am their bestman of their wedding day its also theier gift to me to come and visit canada...they also send their COPIES of thier ties like...BUSINESS PERMIT, T4, BANK STATEMENT, LAND PROPERTY AND BUILDING OWNERSHIP. also their copy of passport, birth certificate, marriage cert. and etc.

AND also I submitted also my ties here in pinas.
1. land declaration of real property
2. building declaration
3. my small business registration from DTI
4. bank account
5. certification from employer stated ( when I start the company until now..my position, my salary and the approved leave of the company 25 days)
all of these I made a declaration of statutory and made it notarized in our legal office of the bank I work.

i did not made any letter or any formal letter of itinerary of what Im do during of my stay in canada....because its all in the invitation letter of my brother in law that they will show me canada and going some places in canada...

these are the reason of denial of my application.

1. travel history
2. employment prospect in country of residence
3. employment status.

I dont have any travel history outside the country.
i am employed here 7 yrs in bank.
I will be back to work after visit in canada.

As I asked some immigration consultant they told me that you should travel first outside the country like ASIA.. and if you will apply nxt time you should buy an airline ticket to show them that you have ticket as proof that you will leave canada at the end of your stay....my question is.
1. is it necessary that I should comply the travel history?
2. is it necessary that I should buy airline ticket to show them that I will leave canada at the end of my stay?
3. do I need to make an explanation of my travel? like itinerary?
My sister and my brother in law want me to reapply again maybe this december 2016 or early in january becasue they made another invitation letter stating that ..... and they want to I will stay in canada for 25 days

1. to attend thier wedding anniversary on february ____,2016..( attached with invitation card)
2. playing of snow (their is a specific date)
3. visiting of their cottage (their is a specific date)
4. hopefully going to niagara falls but no specific date
5. birthday of my sister.

Hopefully I could have a reply and God bless.

Just to let you know lang po...
