visit visa for inland spousal application

Good day.,

I have a wife in canada(PR), and she is planning to sponsor me. we are yet to decide whether we go inland or outland application.

here's the scenario. we both want inland application, but the problem is that, if i apply for visit visa, can it be granted? given that i am unemployed. i have worked in japan for 2 years and has enough money to survive for a year or so until my application will be approved that is why i don't need work at the moment. my wife has a part time job (cant do full time since we have a child) can she be the guarantor for my visit visa? and by the way here mom is willing to sponsor me or invite me over instead so that she could be the guarantor for my visit visa to canada given a guarantor is possible.

You are unlikely to be able to get a TRV if you aren't employed because you won't be able to show strong ties to your home country which will give the impression that you will not remain in Canada. You may also run into problems with your spousal sponsorship if your wife is only working part-time. Although there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship you have to show that you can support yourselves without government help. Canadian family members can offer to help and show they have the savings to do so, you can show your savings as well but you being unemployed and your wife working part-time will raise concerns.

she is working part time because she needs to take care of our child. the point in coming to canada is to support her while she do full time job and i will take care of our child or vice versa. is it a valid statement?

You may be asked for a more concrete plan because it can be hard to find employment as a newcomer. They will look at your entire situation and savings. It would be much better for you to be working all year and saving more money. The optics of one spouse working part-time and the other one is unemployed are not great and will concern CIC.

A TRV approval seems highly unlikely.

Any specific reason why you are currently unemployed? Since how long have you not been working? Is it possible to find a job before you apply for spousal PR (outland process)?

no i don't. it just so happen that i have enough money to sustain for myself. i could easily land a job if i want to.
anyhow, do i need to have a job even if for example we choose the outland application?
