I understand it is very uncommon to receive approval on a visit visa while in process for a spouse sponsored PR application, but is there anyone in this forum that was ever successful at receiving approval of the visit visa? If so, could you kindly share the basic details... what country your spouse was from and what were the underlying circumstances that you used as reasons for request? Thank you in advance...

Yes, i did & got 6 months single entry visa.

me & my wife are from pakistan, though now shes a Canadian resident. I just mentioned that i am going to canada to meet my wife. With the application i submitted my current job letter, bank statement, salary slips & wifes pr copy.

I think only because of my good travel history i was granted a visa, as i am going to europe once every two months.

I am from Australia and in Canada on an extended tourist visa while my Inland PR application is being processed. We chose to have me live in Canada rather than go back to Australia hence our applying inland. My visitor visa lasts for 12 months at which time I can apply to have it extended. If you are a foreign national and waiting in Canada while your PR application is going through they cannot kick you out of the country as long as your visa is valid. You MUST however have a valid visa of some kind though and cannot simply rely on the PR application being in process to cover you. Hope this helps.
