Hi Bryanna,
I am about to start the visit visa application for Canada for my brother in India for the third time and would request you to please review the list of documents being submitted below and provide your feedback. He has been refused Visit visa twice, in 2011 and in 2016. The reason for refusal was as follows :
2011 application :
a. Travel History
b. Purpose of Visit
2016 applicaton :
a. Travel History
b. Family Ties in Canada and in country of residence (i.e., India)
They are a family of three - my brother (54 years), Sister in Law (54 years), Daughter (24 years - unmarried). Both the times, all 3 had applied together. My parents were alive in 2011. Both were deceased by the time of 2016 application. I am my brother's only sibling, living in Canada for last 14 years.
In my opinion, at the time of both applications, not enough documentary evidence was submitted to prove strong ties to India and no covering letter was submitted by the applicants to connect the dots for the visa office. I had applied for GCMS notes for 2016 refusal and the comment from Visa Officer was "Family of 3 to visit PA's Brother. Applicants have limited/no travel history. PA's parents are deceased and his only sibling is in Canada. If family travels to Canada, there would be no strong family ties to encourage applicants to return to home country. Refused"
Now this third time, we want to make a strong case and submit all the documentary evidence possible to prove the ties to the home country.
This time, we are planning to apply for only my brother. His wife and daughter will stay back in India and will not be included in this visa application. The list of documents I am planning to submit are as follows :
• Proof of Employment for my brother – Employment Letter + Pay Slips (last 4 pays)
• Letter from Employer approving 2 weeks leave and a mention to return to work by a specific date
• He is a HR Trainer. Holds training sessions with Clients. Long term contracts with clients for the training – we will provide the calendar of Scheduled Training Sessions before and after the return from Canada
• Property Details – 2 Condos in India – Purchase Agreement, valuation report
• Bank Balance proof. Show sufficient liquid funds available in his account to bear the expenses for Canada Trip on his own.
• Family Staying back in India – Wife (54 years – employed), Daughter (21 years – unmarried, Medical Doctor, currently studying for Post-Grad exam in Dec 2018). Submit Marriage certificate for my brother and wife, Birth certificate of daughter, as proof
• Both parents passed away. Wife’s parents passed away too. His Wife and Daughter have no one to fall back on other than him. His wife has few siblings but they are married. Do we submit death certificates for parents from both sides ?
• Travel History – travelled to Singapore/Malaysia 2 years back. Travelled to NZ in 2002.
• Purpose of Visit – My son’s birthday in Sept 2018. Visiting Places in Canada. Camping. Detail, by day itinerary will be included.
• Cover letter from Host (myself) and my brother (split in different sections - Previous Refusal, Employment Details, Financial Situation, Ties to India, etc) will be included
• Will provide my information (financial position, house paper, etc) - I am aware that this carries little significance in the overall application
Can you please let me know if I am missing anything in the documents and suggest any other documents that I should include.
Thank you so much for your help in advance.
Regards
