Good day.
I am currently living in Austria since 8 yrs. I have a PR there. I am now on maternity leave which is 2.5 yrs here. I have a few friends in Canada and would like to know my chances of getting a visitor visa for me and my now 1 yr old child. I am on maternity leave and must return to my job in September 2019. I have an apartment and I have a leased car here. I am however a Jamaican citizen and my child is Austrian. Would it make a difference if I get an invite from a friend? How long could I stay there?
Thank you for your reply in advance.

It depends on your situation. A mother travelling with her 1 yr old child seems like along shot for a TRV, but as long as you have proper documentation to prove your claims you should have no problems.

Yes, you need an invitation letter to explain your reasons to travel to Canada. You can stay for as much as CIC and CBSA gives you permission to stay. Usually the longer the stay, the harder to get a TRV. I would not recommend more than 1 month.
