And yes, that's as someone who was born in Canada and whose parents were both born in Canada. Once again, there is nothing illegal or wrong with visiting your home country after citizenship. Ultimately that's all that matters. People are legally entitled to visit their home countries after citizenship. That a person uprooted their lives , fled a country , then suddenly everything is sunshine & roses because they got that blue Canadian passport. It’s as if there past suddenly & miraculously disappeared. It’s a Christmas miracle.
Then said individuals are clamouring at the first chance to return to the country they “ fled” from . Clamouring, in some cases demanding to get their home passport back . The same passport that represents the SAME country that persecuted them enough they decided to flee from.
Most people don’t have an inkling what a passport represents . That you’re asking for that countries protection when traveling.

Who cares? I've experienced negative reactions from CBSA as someone born in Canada about dumb stuff. Again, perfectly legal to visit the home country after citizenship. That all that matter. Perfectly legal.

Fair to conclude, once Canadian Citizen, you are Canadian Citizens, and returning back to your country of origin is NOT reason to loose your Citizenship for now.
