I have simillar issue.
The best thing you can do is ask the college to write you a letter of waever, stating that your engilsh is good enough and acceptable for the program you've applied.

5 is too low to get a visa. You should be aiming for at least 6 in each section to have better chances. Surprised that any college allows someone with a 5 in a module.

I am from Bangladesh can I get visa as a Bangladeshi citizen
Like others are saying you need a minimum of 6.0 in all modules to stand a chance of getting a visa. It's not impossible to get but your chances will increase drastically with a higher IELTS score.

IRCC will refused the application. You need to increase your IELTS score.

There was a college in Ontario i think done there own language tests and it ended up in a big mess as students were not prepared as the couldn't understand English. I very much doubt the college giving any sorts of proof like that will work and is doing the student a massive disservice

Retaking the test is always an option... at the end of the day that's what I am going to do!
I am just recommending other options, not everyone can afford taking the IELTS or TOEFL, it's bloddy expensive!

To be honest if you can't afford to do it, you can't afford to Immigrate. You need to have a lot of money behind you to move to any country.

Don't you read the threads??? Not everyone has money to apply, many of the students are borrowing money (aunts, uncles), they sell their properties, they take huge bank loans! The tests are expensive, taking them more than once is quite challenging!
If people had "a lot of money" they would prefer to stay in their homelands.
We all know that the studies are just another vessel to immigrate to Canada!

I read most of the threads on here. I see people lots of people that go about it the right way and lots of people that are desperate and try any shortcut possible. Senior members on here like to give practical advice as we have all went through it before. It's to prepare people as much as possible for the challenges that this huge move has. Getting a letter from a college, that already has a very low english requirement, to prove people can understand English is not good in my opinion (and I am sure many people feel the same way), is not a good option. The language exams are meant to prepare people that do not speak a language for life after they get here.

There was a poster on here that said as they cannot get past 5 in the IELTS, they will just deal with it when they get here. Other people believe in scams because they are so focused on getting here, they let things cloud their judgement. It's people like that we are trying to give advice to. If someone cannot communicate in a language, they are going to really struggle, not only in a course that will be done in English, but also with life. We are trying to prevent that.
