Hi guys, i got my PPR yesterday, i am from France which is considered as a visa waived country. From the letter they sent i gathered that if you are from a visa required country you need to send it along with the pictures but if you are from a visa waived one all you need to send is the photos along with photocopies of the bio page. Am I wrong in assuming all i need is to send a photocopy and pictures? There is no placement for me to upload copies on my CIC account. I checked and logged out couple times but nothing ...

Can someone from a visa waived country who received his/her PR please tell me if i need to send the passport or just photocopies ?

I appreciate your help !! Thank you so much !

Are you sure there is nowhere to upload your photocopy under 'View submitted application'? If not then you should probably contact your visa office or CIC.

I didn't reach this phase yet, but from what I observed is that they need to stick visa counterfoil into passports from applicants who are not visa exempt. Therefore, only copies would suffice (since you don't need that).

This is correct. Not everyone gets a slot to upload the copy online. Just mail the photos with the photocopy. The instructions were pretty clear in my PPR letter in that regard.

In this case, I would do four things:

1) Under "check status and message" upon login mycici, you can find view submitted application. There you would find the upload option. If not, then:
2) Submit the documents via a CSE
3) Email and/or fax them to your VO
4) Mail them

In all three instances, make sure to have a letter of explanation attached explaining why you are doing what you are doing, instead of, as far as they are concerned, following their instructions.

Hi,

If you VO is Paris, you can send your documents to : paris - immigration @international . gc . ca (remove the spaces), and raise a CSE just in case.

How did you know that your VO was Paris ?

Thanks,

Hi,

just to let you know that I received PPR today. I am European citizen as well, in Canada, and email didn't say a word about uploading documents online, just to mail them to Ottawa.

Cheers!

Hi,
all you need to do is sending the passport bio page photocopy, two pictures (according requirements) and the print of the PPR by mail. You're not supposed to upload anything. And if I may ask where did you get an idea about uploading anything from?

My PPR says the following

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS

1. Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.

2. Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member. See our specifications at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

3. One pre-paid return envelope so that we can return your passport(s) and Confirmation of Permanent Residence documents. See Step 4 for instructions regarding the return envelope.

4. The completed and signed Annex A listing your current mailing address.
(not a print of PPR, but just Annex A)

hi RoseEllie6,

am in same state as you, based on the discussion on November thread i sent a PM to you but seems you didnt check it yet : )

Your concern is valid, and for other who responded where did you or people like me got that idea that we need to upload...i would paste some lines from PPR letter to clarify.

text directly from PPR letter, am more or less sure RoseEllie6 have received similar text in her PPR letter
"Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.
Note: Visa exempt applicants using MyCIC are not required to submit a physical copy – please upload this information to your MyCIC account.
"

the same text is repeated for Appendix A as well in the letter. And the Note is marked with RED color to highlight it to naked eye explicitly.

I have raised a technical support case, but based on my past experience it takes ages before they respond. Wrote to the email address in PPR letter ( mine was for London ) but no response its close to 48 hours. Though based on suggestions in this thread i am planning to send the copies of passport via postal mail and same for Appendix A (besides photos, for each applicant in application). I was not planning a CSE but seems like a good idea.

I didn't ask where that information came from, just shared my experience. It seems inland and outland mails are different, since mine states "Submit all documents by mail in a single package and send to the following address:
CPC – Ottawa – PR
PO Box 9780
Ottawa ON K1G 4B9"

It is underlined and bolded like written above.

At least now we learned something new.

Thanks for sharing this anti_maniac.
