Visa validity and traveling without family

Hi guys,

I got my visas some time back. I've got a couple of questions:

1. My family's medicals were done on Jan 31 2012. However, they took some extra time with my wife's results and that took another few weeks. (I don't know the exact date the Canadians received our medicals.) We received our visas and the expiry date of the visas is Apr 5 2014. Does that mean that we have till Apr 5th to arrive in Canada or does the 1-year-from-medicals rule still hold?

2. If I enter alone initially, do I have to carry the entire funds required for my family and I (~CAD 21,000) with me? Or can I only carry funds required for one person and they bring the remaining amount when they come in? I don't want to carry all that money with me.

Hi. 1. Your family should be here before that date. My advice, do let them come early maybe a two months before.
2. As you are the priincal applicant, you should carry the required POF
