college is cheaper, and there are more seats and more colleges. Therefore, there are more rejections in colleges. Even if you get admission in the best university in Canada, you can still be rejected.

So what are the parameters?Universities few in numbers and limited seats. This way Visa officer pay attention one time upper on University students than colleges.

what I think being said is that because there are more applications for colleges than universities it may seem that there are more rejections given the higher number of applications over universities.

Not sure that which college or university someone chooses to attend influences a visa officer as opposed to the course selected versus current qualifications, how any course might be relevant on return home and ability to pay.

A visa officer has no connection with or influence on college or university selection or how many offers are made by any institution, if an offer is genuine it is the other factors that decide that often people underestimate the importance of. Colleges/Universities see international students as revenue stream so rare unless they are full for them to reject anyone unless the basic criteria are not met.

Parameters are course relevancy or justification given for a non-relavant course, your financial ability, your English ability and that you are a bonafide student.

It doesn't matter where you study, what you are studying and your study plan matters.

Since there are less university seats, less people get rejected from universities. More people get rejected from colleges because there are more colleges, and therefore more people get rejected.

Your choice of college or university should be based on what you want. University education is generally academic, and college education is generally career focused.

There is a perception that by just choosing a university, you will get visa approval, this is not the case.

SOP is important since there are generally no visa interviews for study permit applications. So, an SOP or Letter of explanation can act as you speaking to the visa officer. There is no such rule that 50% of your approval depends on SOP. SOP is important when there are things that you need to explain on your application, that you have not done so in the application forms. Your SOP is just to explain your application further. If your application is straightforward, then there is no need for SOP even.

The university might be OK with your English, but IRCC will not be happy with the IELTS score, it is very low for a university level program, especially the reading and writing.

Hello everyone,
I have got an offer for a Master in Engineering from the University of Alberta for fall 2022. I have 87% in my B.tech (2022 pass out), IELTS 7 overall with 7 minimum. I applied for the study visa on 11th May 2022 with a one-year tuition deposit and 10000 CAD GIC with CIBC bank. It would be really helpful if someone can tell me what are my chances of getting the visa.
Thanks in advance

Without knowing more about your profile it is tough to say. Where are you from? How much savings did you show? Do you have any funding from U of A?

You still need to show funds for your living expenses and the ability to pay for future years if it is a 2 yr program. If not all savings are there proof of where the sponsor’s income is coming from and what amount of income is coming in monthly or yearly plus other assets that can be liquidated. Do you have a lot of family in Canada?
