Visa stamped in a different country than the country I apply for a visa

Hi everyone,

Currently I am in the US and I have applied for a Canadian work permit at the Consulate in New York. I will probably have to leave the US before I can get the visa stamped and will not be able to go back to the US. Does anyone know that I will have to send my passport back to the Consulate in NYC to have my visa stamped or once I have their approval I can have the visa stamped in another Canadian Consulate in a different country?
Is there anyone in the same situation like me? Thanks for any advice.

Hi Hung, I am in exactly the same situation as you. I wonder if you eventually resolved your problem and how did you resolve it?
