Hello,

well I finally got my spousal visa sent off after waiting for all police checks etc.

Just a few questions now that I have confirmation that the visa has been received in Mississauga.

1. What happens next? do they let me know when they send it to London?
2. As i only had to send a photocopy of my passport page, how do you get the actual visa if it is granted? I thought they would have stamped my passport?
3. How do i go about getting my new baby Canadian Citizenship? The baby was unborn when we applied and i know they will ask for proof of the babies citizenship as his mum is Canadian. Also how long does this usually take to get?

Thanks a lot and big thanks to everyone who has helped my complete my visa. I'm going to stay tuned to try and give others some help now :)

1. Your sponsor will receive a letter from Mississauga in about 56 days stating whether the sponsorship has been approved/refused and the application is then sent to London.
2. If London approves your application, you will get a letter/email from them telling you to send your passport. They will insert the visa, and return the passport. Then you "land"
3. Where is the child going to be born? If in Canada, you do nothing, if in the UK and your wife is not second generation born abroad, then she applies for proof of citizenship http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp and a passport http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob154.asp

She cannot pass her Canadian citizenship to the baby, if the baby is born abroad. In this case, the baby will need to be sponsored as a dependent.
