Visa Reprinting in Manila

My passport with Canada Visa was mutilated and had to be renewed. The visa itself has no damage, only the front pages of my passport.

I sent the old and new passport to Canadian Embassy so they could check if the visa needs to be reprinted or if I could just attach my old passport with the new and use it as usual when entering port of entry. I haven't received any updates yet, but I would like to know:

1. Anybody here who had a similar case here where you had to return your passport for visa reprinting? How long did it take for you to get an update from the embassy, how long did it take for you to get your passport back from them?

2. Anybody here who attached mutilated passport with new one when entering port of entry? Did you have any problems?

3. Any advise which email/contact number I could check to get updates for my passport?

Thank you very much!
