Guys I need your help, I just received study visa denial based on not satisfying the visa officer that I will leave the country after my studies. I need to know two things: do the visa fees get reimbursed? How can I make a stronger re application? What other info. Is needed to show that I will leave canada after my studies?

I already stated in my sop how my studies will help me grow at work as I have been asked to come back to work after I complete my studies etc.

Need your help plz.

Rejection was based on visa officer thinking I would stay not return.

Diploma in legal studies, relevant to my line of work. I applied for a study permit and my spouse for a work permit. I also applied for a study permit and visitor visa for each of my siblings. I believe the fact they were accompanying me made the visa officer suspicious.

In my sop I stated that I am happy at my work, kid at school etc... That I am taking two years off to study legal studies to help me achieve better work targets. That my job I available upon my return.

Did you get a letter from your employer about keeping the possition for you open for two years?
And yes, taking the whole family with you may be an issue. You do not leave strong ties at home.
And your husband has a job he could leave so easely for two years.

Also, why did you ask for OWP for him? Did not you have enough funds for four of you + your tuition?

Regina: No I didn't get this letter. I stated it in the Sop. However, I attached a reference letter that says I would definitely be hired after my studies.

As for my spouse, either he would remain in my home country away from his family for two years or he joins us during our stay. We had enough funds, but I applied for a work permit to make it available for him to work. Could this be the main reason for refusal?

Will I get refunds for visa fees?

No, they do not refund fees. They spent their time working with your file -they have to be paid.

A lot of people leave their families to go to Canada to study or to work. And they can always got and visit their families during summer break.

IMHO, if you have enough money you should not ask for OWP for your husband. I know some people do and get it, but I would not. It is always possible to apply for OWP from within Canada. To do that ahead of time - could seem to CIC that you are desperate to get money, that in reality you DO NOT have enough.

Sometimes, if an applicant do not have significant "ties" at home besides family it is bad idea to try to take it with her/him.

Regina you have a point there, and to be honest the work permit for my husband was a back up plan if he found a job, otherwise he would stay and continue with his job.

Do you advise that I reapply only for myself and kids, and not include my husband? Or a definite refusal will take place.

I do not think you will be able to study and to take care of two children at the same time. Believe me I attended university here. It is difficult to study in Canada. And VO knows that too.
More reasonable would be to go alone if you could do that.

No way.

You need another from $600 to 900 monthly for a childcare for 3 yo. Your kid could get a cold- will you miss classes? Or pay for a babysitter $10-12 an hour? No many babysitters would like to sit with a sick child. One of your classes could start at 6 pm. Who will take care of your kids? School is only till 2:30, then you need either a babysitter or a half-day daycare for your 9 yo. Another $300 a month. You will need to cook, clean, shop and entertain your children and spend 40 hours a week doing your homework. Could you? There are not Canadians with children 9 and 3 y.o who go to univwersity if they do not have a husband or extended family who could cover for mom any time she needs.

I have a friend who lives in Calgary where I am going. She can help cover, should I mention that in my application?
