My wife got a refusal for below reasons:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and

She has already paid her full course tuition fee, showed a education loan of over 20k Cad and had savings of more than 20K + GIC 0f 10K. Finaance should be the last reason for refusal.

We have applied for our daughter's visitor visa also from my account but she was suppose to go with me and come back before my wife leaves.

I am really confused, should i apply again with an explanation letter, there is no time to wait for the GCMS notes as her classes start from 5th July

Please advise

Loan might be the problem here but I don't think it is.
You can get a consultants help to be on safe side. If you are from India, visit IDP as they are free of cost and they will guide you better.

You can apply again with strong sop
Looking at your scenario I don't there is issue with finance. Try to take some expert help to do good sop
Also you can ask for gcms notes, but this will take some time.

The main concern here is leaving Canada after the studies. Try to show strong ties with your home country which your wife's profile is completely lacking because her only ties are you and your son which are moving with her to Canada. So VO can't see a reason for your wife to come back after studies.
You guys should have waited for your wife's visa confirmation than you and your kid should have applied for your visitor visa.

Think one of the issues is that you have applied for your family as well so the finances are good for one person but not for the family. I would suspect that you may not be viewed as a genuine student and more like a vehicle to immigrate. It doesn’t make sense for someone above 35 to return to school when they can’t afford to (need loan) and already have a family.

Would encourage you to get GCMS notes.

Thanks everybody for the replies. for family ties, I and my daughter were staying in INDIA , we have our own home her mortgage paid and all. My wife's as well as my family is in INDIA.

Only reason she was doing M.ed in Canada as its just a 14 months course where as in INDIA it will take her 4 years and other countries minimum 2 years and she requires a B.ed which she does not have.

Hi Canuck78,

We did provide a strong SOP detailing that how Canadian M.ed will help her. Only she and our 3 year old son was suppose to be there so i calculated 3k Cad per month (for 2 People) for 15 month and showed around 50k CAD. I am not sure whether showing more will help. Only reason to apply loan was to get benefits in income tax. As in India, we get rebate on the premium paid.

I really want to get GCMS notes and apply after that but sadly there is not enough time. Her classes start on 5th July and notes will take 30 days. Do you think attaching a explanation will help with my letter of support?

Does applying in SDS or General makes any difference? In SDS do they even read optional documents as I am still confused how it was rejected due to finance. Another thing i suspect is the language on loan letter. It does not say that its not disbursed. Maybe VO thought that we paid tuition fee with loan where as that was from our on pocket.

I am not moving with her. Though I have a visitor visa but I have no plans of moving. It was mentioned in the SOP
