My visa has got rejected under SPP.

Profile:BCOM ( chd) INternational MBA ( noida)

had applied to PG diploma in Humber : Global business management.
My sister is a citizen of canada.

I had a

Reason for rejection:1) you have not satifsifed if you will leave canada due to:

you travel history
purpose of visit
your family ties in canada and your family ties in the country of residence

2) your proposed studies cannot be considered a logical progression of studies.

Please advise as i see l lots of students taking the course as i did after MBA so i believe that it is the secondary reason.

how do i demonstrate family ties..and that i will return?

ur profile looks good.
u main reason seems like doing PG diploma after MBA. U need to look at phd level courses or atleast masters level and wirte a good SOP explaining why the masters level course is right for u and why u have a passion for it.

ur sister in canada has an impact but u cant do anything about it. province change is not going to make much difference.

so does that mean i can never apply?
not really i said having sister makes an impact but its not everything ...as i said before ur problem is not sisiter being in canada but selecting a PG diploma after MBA. u can put a positive spin on ur sister being in canada in ur SOP u could for instance say she has been an inspiration for u and her opinion of education in canada is very high hence u decided to study in canada. I mean u can think about something else too but u get the point. So ur main fix is go for phd level course.

If your visa was declined, that doesn't mean you can't apply again. You can always apply again and you should. I know someone whose visa was rejected twice and the person got a visa finally on the third try. You should have done something on a higher level than a postgraduate (PG) diploma like mead had suggested. A PG diploma is a postgraduate qualification awarded typically after a bachelor's degree not after a master's degree, which you already have. The Canadian government is looking at what you can study in Canada that will enhance your field of study.

Thanks so much for your response.Do you the approx cost of PHD courses?
There are no Ph.D courses. Ph.D is a program. The education system isn't as simple and easy as it is in India. I know people in India who can't write a simple English statement yet have a Ph.D behind their name. You should research on the field of study that you are in and how you can go about getting admission in a Ph.D program. The best place to look is on the individual university Web sites (i.e. University of Toronto, York University).

If you apply for another Masters program outside of your field of study, the government will question that. But yes, you can apply to another masters. But will that guarantee that you will get a visa, only God or the government knows. The idea is to go one level up from what you studied in your home country, not on the same level. Hope that helps.
