Hello experts,
My application for Student visa was refused yesterday. According to the VO's letter, the reasons are:
1. Insufficient funds
My 1st year (first two semesters) tuition is 14 500 CAD, and I showed 67 500 CAD that my mother has on her bank accounts. I attached her statement saying she is "voluntarily making available funds in the amount of 67 500 CAD for the purpose of education in Canada". What could have gone wrong?
Can dates on documents influence their decision? The statement was made one month after papers from bank, but the amounts are the same.
Does it matter if her two accounts show money in one currency, but the third shows it in other currency?
There is a, official certificate from the bank that sums up all the money in EUR.
2. Leave Canada at the end of my stay
VO considered:
- travel history
I uploaded only the first page of my passport with info about me. It's new, so I only have few stamps in it and no other visas. I was never before refused for a visa.
Should I have maybe scanned the other pages as well? What is your advice?
- family ties in Canada and in my country
I do not have any family ties in Canada. I am an only child and my parents are divorced. That's what I stated in the application. What did the VO mean by those "family ties"?
- length of proposed stay in Canada
In the form, in the field "duration of expected study" I put from 2nd of January 2015 - 30th of April 2016.
My classes are about to start on 12th of January, but the orientation week starts on 2nd. Sheridan College said I am expected to graduate in April 2016, which is why I had put 30th of April.
Should I have put something different in my form?
- limited employment prospects in your country of residence
I don't see how I can influence this one. I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is the truth - employment prospects are limited here.
I would really appreciate any advice you might have for me. I got the refusal in 7 days after applying. I will apply once again next week, but won't wait for CAIPS. This is why I would love to hear from you.
Even if you are not optimistic about me, please let me know.
Thank you in advance!
