Dears,

Unfortunately, my application for student visa had been rejected, and here is the mentioned reasons from visa officer:
1. You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this
decision, I considered several factors, including:
- current employment situation
- personal assets and financial status.

2. Other reasons
-Not satisfied that you are a bona fide student & would depart Canada at end of authorized stay.

Knowing that, I'm Armenian working here in UAE since 2014, and my Canadian relatives provide me a bank letter shows that I cover everything requested. What do you advice me? should I wait till next registration season (June 2016)? Can I submit to Canadian Embassy in Armenia while I'm here in UAE?

I am so disappointed and my Canadian relatives are shocked :(

It's actually not that surprising you were refused.

First of all, you are in a country where you only have temporary status. This makes it much more difficult to show that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. What evidence did you provide to show your ties to your home country?

Who were the relatives who were funding your studies in Canada? Generally you either want to fund yourself or have your parents fund you. Having more distant relatives (e.g. uncle) fund you reduces your chances of approval.

What education have you completed and how long ago? What were you planning on studying in Canada and at what school?

Hi scylla !

Thanks a lot for your kind and clear reply. Absolutely, you are totally right in what you mentioned and it was my fault to not be more careful and not depend on the main forms mentioned in the official website.

However, I will be so grateful if we can discuss it in details. My email: harout_der@hotmail.com

Thanks again for your valuebale time and effort.

I'm not a consultant and don't offer private advice.

If you would like me to comment on your situation then you will have to post your further questions and information on the forum.

Hi scylla,

First, let me thank you to keep your doors opened and sorry for any misunderstand as I thought my case will not be very common to be so interested by other members of forum.

However, I don't have any doubt to public the details of my experience here :)

Let's start with some facts!

- I have dual nationalities (Armenian & Syrian) where I'm here by my Armenian passport.
- My Canadian relatives who are going to support me financially and logistically are my cousin daughter - Montreal, Quebec.
- I mentioned the truth in the application where I born and lived in Syria.
- I registered in Montreal de college in one year program (Business Analyst - Coop program) which is related to my education (Bachelor of Economics-Business Administrative specialization-graduated 2007) and my work experience as Executive Secretary.
- The cost of the program is 12000 and my relatives showed a bank statement of 20.000.

Here is my strategic plan for the second battle with Visa Officer of Abu Dhabi!
- For "personal assets and financial status"

Actually, all my assets and family's one are in Syria and they worth nothing now :( so instead of that I can show that my relatives have a properties and enough bank account to cover my staying and studying there.

- For "current employment situation"

I think it is not his business (LoL). However, I am thinking to provide him a motivation letter that shows the high impact of completing this program as Business Analyst specialization is increasingly highly demanded whether in UAE, Armenia, or Quebec/Canada.

- For "Not satisfied that you are a bona fide student & would depart Canada at end of authorized stay"

Come on! the visa officer knows better than anyone of us that we all are planning to stay in Canada and willing to do ANYTHING to stay there (LoL). I don't know how to satisfy him :(

I asked the college to postpone my registration to June 2016, so I have enough time to be prepared again.

So, if you need more facts and information, it is my great pleasure to provide them.

I know my application has low percentage of chances to be accepted, but I don't want to surrender early.

Hi friends. Is anyone know how to evaluate my bachelor's degree of Armenian State University of Economics
Thanks in advance for help!

You can evaluate your degree from WES (World Education Services) or you can evaluate the degree from provincial based association like in Saskatchewan its APEGS. As far as I know most of the companies prefer provincial based evaluation and WES is generally used by those people who wants to apply for PR and all so that they can get extra points for degree courses.
