Hello Guys,

I got a visa refusal letter today and I am totally shattered.

The reason given was your proposed :-Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities,or your future prospects and plans

I don't find it acceptable at all as I had clearly mentioned my intentions and my profile in my SOP with all the relevant documents.

Here is my basic profile:-
xth 2001 - 54%

xiith 2003 - 56%

Grads - BHMCT - 2007 - 55%

I have shown around 4 years of experience in hospitality and customer service since then.

My chosen course which is Global Hospitality Management is related to my studies and work experience.

Please let me know on what basis have they rejected my visa.

If anyone else who has a similar profile and going for a course related to his field but was refused a visa please reply.

Hope to hear from you guys.I am deeply frustrated at the reason given to me.

Any kind of help or guidance will be really appreciated.

Thank You
Arun

you are not the single person who shattered and frustrated with the reason that stupid VO told you for your visa refusal.. there is a long trail of applicants (100 of) who got same reason bcz this is the key in the hands of VO whom they do not like to give visa.. simple words...

so don't spoil ur life, time, money over filing again and again and switch to other countries like NZ, AUSTRALIA, UK, USA who are not below in any way than Canada in quality of education, standard of living and these are all developed countries so why spoiling ur parents hard earned money as well as urs (if u r working).

i don't know why peoples are crazy and dieing for Canada if other countries having the same reputation exist on this planet...

so final suggestion ... turn ur face to other countries...

if u have time, money, future to spoil again and again over Canadian student visa filing then try...try...try...and carry on...and enjoy this...

rest ur decision .. my motto is to put u all on right track...

Arunist -- Sorry for the refusal of ur visa.

If you want me to be brutally honest as to why they rejected ur application then listen :

1. The marks that you have obtained in ur studies no ware matches to the repuation of the education here in Canada.
2. No matter if your course selection matches ur previous studies but they judged it acording to ur previous marks and might have come with the denial of visa for you based on that.

3. Don't think theat the visa officers are stupid..They are smart enough to know that the ultimate goal of every person applying is to get Permanent Residence in Canada and settle in Canada. They don't randomly give the visa but see the potenital in the person and then only give it.

Lastly, applying some where else hope you might get lucky and get the visa.

Thanks for the replies guys.

GKB I am not gonna get frustrated with this but gonna move on and i don't believe in trying again cause they will give me the same reason back.

The reason I posted my story here because I had huge expectations that I am going to get my visa. But I want to tell all my friends out there especially who are applying in the general category that don't keep such high expectations like me.

Be positive but also be prepared for rejection and have a backup plan just in case your visa is rejected.

I have traveled to the US on a work permit multiple times.I had got my visa easily then.So I had the same expectations with this visa as well.Probably Canada is not in my destiny.Have to move on.

Good Luck to all who are awaiting their visa

Paul ur right I should have thought about it before I applied.

I feel I was rejected because i passed out my graduation in 2007 and now going for a PG course.

Even though I have shown them all my experience and stated that I was not able to apply for PG before cause of my financial status.

I dont think marks or percentages has to do a lot with courses in hospitality. That may be for students applying for universities.

Anyways thanks for your reply I will need some time before i recover from this shock and apply to a new destination soon.

Frankly speaking, your grades are quite low. That's why they refused the visa.
But they are stupid people indeed.
I was refused for the following profile:
10th: 90%
12th: 85%
B.Tech: 70%
IELTS: 8.0

Reason: You don't have a travel history, You may not leave canada after your stay.

Amazing score on the IELTS, and yet they do not issue the visa to you! I thought the purpose of IELTS was to demonstrate ability to comprehend and understand what is being taught in the classrooms, English being the medium of instruction. I may be wrong here, but from the limited time I've spent on this forum, I gather that lesser your proficiency in English (and also work experience), greater the chances of being issued the visa! Cheers!!! (And I can't believe I'm going to be part of this madness very soon...LOL)

I agree with what others have posted. Your grades are very low. I don't think it's that surprising that you were refused.
