hmm. Seems like as of 2014, they have changes quite a few things. For most students, you don't need to apply for off campus work permit. lol

Not sure who is feeding you this information. Please note that you will not get a work permit as soon as you land in Canada. It will be a student permit that will allow you to work up to 20 hours every week.

If you meet all of these requirements, you can work off campus as an international student without a work permit:

• you have a valid study permit
• you are a full-time student at a designated learning institution (DLI) who is enrolled in a
  • post-secondary academic, vocational or professional trainingprogram
    
    or
    
    
  • secondary-level vocational training program (offered in Quebec only)
    • you have started studying
    • you have a study permit with a condition printed on it that allows you to work on or off campus
    • you are in a program that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate and that is at least 6 months long
    • you have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)

I was relating the work permit with the study permit. Yup You're right. My point is also the same. You can get the study permit at PoE on which you can work on/off campus upto 20 hrs per week and 40 hrs in scheduled breaks.

Thanks to Almighty ALLAH, I've received my visa. Shukar Alhamdulillah.
