Hi everyone, my name is Estuardo Dacaret I currently live in Guatemala and I'm in the final process of getting my permanent residency. Since my wife is Canadian I did the outland family sponsorship. Recently they requested my passport which I sent a few days ago.
My question is how long does it usually take to receive my passport back (with my new permanent residency visa)? Is there a range of time for me to receive it? With it I can work immediately when I enter Canada right?

thank you

Assuming you sent your passport to Mexico VO. They take 2-4 weeks to send the passport back.

Now, I'm not sure if you can work immediately. But it won't be more than 45 days for you to get your Actual PR so all I can tell you is that you can start working for sure when you get the actual PR card. I'm not sure if you can work before that, someone else who has already landed should be able to answer you that.

Sure he can work as long as he has landed officially and obtained his SIN. One doesn't need the actual PR Card before they can start working. Sometimes employers ask for the landing papers as proof of PR.
