Visa processing time for SPP vs General Category

Hello Folks,

Can anybody throw some light on the processing time taken by the Canadian visa office for Student visa's(SPP and General Category)

I have heard that SPP visa's are processed faster than the general study visa application for universities..

Also,If a student is planning for an application. How early should they start before an intake..

General takes little more time...SPP maximum 7-10 days.
You should apply for visa before 2 months....Today I came to know that few visa officers went on strike from my consultant here.....So it will take more time for both categories.

Hi,
I got admission in Western Ontario Uni, London. It is not enlisted in ACCC list. Still if i go for the GIC, would it be beneficial for me during visa process?
