visa officer refused to fill PR card application on landing

Hi Guys

Yesterday I completed the landing procedure on Ottawa , but the immigration officer refused to file my application for PR card as he saw in the embarkation form that I am here only for 18 days .
I requested and reasoned but in vain.
I am really disappointed and want to know that is there anything that can still be done .

Please advise

No big deal. You landed and have your PR status. You can get the card at a later date.

The immigration officer was probably only concerned about that your PR card would be lost if it were mailed to an address you will not be staying at when it arrives. Do you have a secure address for it? If you do, you can try calling the CIC call centre and telling them that when you landed, you did not have an address and now you do. Then give that address and see if they accept. If they do not, then you can just wait until you are back in Canada for good.

My only concern is about coming back.
As I have read everywhere that PR card is needed to come back to Canada or for re entry.
So in my case I have to get a TRV right , an I understanding this correct .

If you are visa exempt, you just show your landing papers when you enter and tell them you had to leave right after landing to take care of things.

If you are not visa exempt, you can apply for a PR travel document at the Canadian embassy nearest to you or alternatively get a US visa, travel to the US and enter in a rented car at the land border.

Good luck lovie for ur future in Canada, but why u stay only for 18days? can u tell us about c.of origin and ur flight information? I'm from Iraq, want to travel for landing from Turkey or UK or France which ever was better.
What about hotels in Canada and other things that u think important for a newcomer to have info about them?

We landed into Canada by road a couple of months back and the immigration officer refuse to take our address as we are going to stay short time there. But, in two days I changed the address online and still it showing my old address only. I am really in frustration, what should I do ?

Just wait.. nothing changes online...just wait...50-60 working days... not sure for now

Thanks for your reply. How many it takes to receive your PR cards.

In my case, I called up CIC customer service and they told me that, in their system, they have my new address (Canada address) and my cards are not yet order. Now it is almost 55 days and time frame is 63 days on CIC website. They lady advise me that, "if you don't receive by Nov 30, please contact us"

I hope, the initial/first time PR cards automatically send us even visa officer refuse to fill the address at time landing and later update online.

Please help me
