Hi there,

I am in a very complicated situation right now. I have applied for pgwp (post graduation work permit) online. I applied it on oct,25, and study visa, sin number, and my visa on passport is expiring at same day on nov 30. I want to know that, m i allowed to work even my study permit expires or i am allowed to renew my sin number while my file in process.
I also been thinking to withdraw my application, and go to border. So i can get it before my visa expires. Is this going to effect my possibility to get work permit if i withdraw my file. My main problem is sin number. Because i cant stay free for month and a half. Please assist me with what should i do. If i withdraw my application how much time it is going to take to withdraw. So i do not have to wait for that.

Thank you,

As long as you applied while your study permit was valid you are allowed to work full time until you get a response on your PGWP. You can also work with an expired SIN legally, but some employers might have their own requirements. Dont withdraw anything, if you want to try flagpolling do that then withdraw if you get it.

I just want to know one more thing. That can bad credit be a cause of rejection of work permit?

Hi there,

My friend just told me that immigration has changed some rules for students, in which they have mentioned that students cannot go to border to apply for work permit. Please help me with what should i do now.

Tell your friend that if he can't provide you with a link on the IRCC website that states that, he should shut up.

The border agency doesnt want to do flagpoles so they try to discourage people from doing it but they are still required to do it.
