Hi, Senior members I am in a giffy I have completed BS.c in Hospitality and Tourism from India (2008) and MBA from United Kingdom (2010) with decent marks, 4 years of part-time and full time experience in UK majorly in Hotels, Restaurants and Retail on good positions, have IELTS-7, liquid cash in my account is 13-14 lakh plus i will take a loan of 10 lakh, I came back to India about 3 months ago now I am planning to go for Masters of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management from Vancouver Island University. Please help me by replying if its a good choice in terms of (Study Mismatch), !!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

After seeing so many study mismatch refusal I am really scared :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Your views will be much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!my judgement is cloudy at the moment !!!!!!!!!!!

my 2 cents: i don't see too much of a study mismatch here. usually phd is the degree to go for after MBA but you seem to be mastering in a very closely related field, so a strong SOP will help you out. HOWEVER, if I were you, I'd be more worried about coming back to India for 3 months and then suddenly applying for study permit. How will you convince VO that you'll come back at the end of your studies?

Thanks Brav.......My course will start in Aug 2013 and currently i am working for an NGO as a volunteer and will be joining a job soon ......I don't have any Idea how to convince VO that I am going to come back to India and My intentions are bonafide !!!!!! your point is really good..........as this is the last thing i would have think before applying !!!!!!!! what you say ?? ??
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

i'd suggest you start thinking about it now bro. maybe you can show property or such?

i have heard rejection rate for Indian students is quiet low, so maybe you'll get lucky?

Thanks a lot man yes my mom has 2 properties (1.2 +90 = 2.1 crore) on her name so i might show that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Do I have to show Property papers or CA certificate !!!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Anything else i have to worried about !!!!!!!!!!!!!! please advice :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I am not an expert but I would not pin all your hopes on proving that your ties to India consist of property you do not own. Think about it from the VO perspective. What would this person NOT walk away from that would encourage them to return home? Wife and child, own significant property, proven employment history. Good luck.

Thanks Pippin ...........thats a good point I actually dont have any property on my name .......i dont have anything on my name .......i am not married and i am not interested in getting married as well.......so +Vo -Nvidia.............how can i prove that i am a bonafide student I actually am but its so many stupid rules makes me wonder how many positive applications Vo rejects on these bases ..........that course is one of a kind and I dont have a clue how to send that message across !!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? head is spinning !!!!!!!!!! I cant prove my ties .........should i donate blood or something !!!!!!!!! give me some ideas !!!!!please

You can start by picking a very reputed university...atleast it ll make.d.vo think b4 reecting a visa for Ubc compared to Viu....tjats my opinion

hahah how was donating blood strengthen ties to your country?

Harsh...............that course is not their in UBC ..... :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
Echelon99.........Brav kinda in a spot .....desperate .........so can do blood donation if needed to ..........!!!!!!! yeah one more thing I am doing volunteer work as well for the past 2 months ...........can i mention that ..........!!!!!!!!!! is that a positive things ??? ??? ??? ???

Being a blood donor and doing volunteer work is always wonderful but I doubt the VO would consider them strong ties. Think about your field of studies. How would coming back to India with this new found knowledge improve things for your family/community? Can you prove the same education is not available to you in your home country? What are the family expectations of you in the future? Will you be caring for parents?

Pipppin .....Thanks a lot man ...these are great suggestions.....i think all the guys and gals applying for canada should consider these point .......yeah really open my eyes ..........I think the prospects of this course is going to be huge as sustainability is an issue which is in the keynotes of many companies corporate social responsibility and all the big hotels, resorts and tourism spots wants to be sustainable in order to prove their seriousness and India and China is going to be on top of that list........so if i can show that this course is not available (Actually its not in India) ............and truthfully my parents are deep routed in India and they will never leave India many obstacles like language barrier, family, sisters, business and they are proud parents they want to earn their own living as long as they can and they are getting older as I speak... I have to come back to India one way or another .......I will be taking care of my parents..........I think if i can convince these points it will be +ve for me !!!!!!! Thanks a lot man these points are really good !!!!!!!!
any more suggestions !!!!!!!!!!!! please ......!! ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Cheers Mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D !!!!!!!! thanks for the help Pippin !!!!!!!!!!!
