Visa Funds

Hi,

There is a box on the visa extension application to identify funds available. Since I am completely sponsoring my wife and she has not funds of her own, which was noted on her initial visa application, what would be a suggestion as an amount if any. I am stating in the cover letter that I will be continuing to provide all financial and medical requirements during her stay in Canada and attaching employment letter and last 2 pay stubs.

Thank you

I am assuming that you are referring to a visitor visa extension. When I filed for my visitor visa extension last year, I just stated that my husband was paying for my upkeep/return home and included copies of his T4s. It was accepted-no questions asked.

That is correct. It is an extension. However, the application does not seem to Validate without putting a value in the box. I guess I could put a dollar value that I have in my account but that would not really be accurate as it is not her money?

Thanx again

I put in the amount from my husband's T4, as he was at the same job making the same income. Since I put him as the source of income, it is ok to use that dollar amount.

I figured what's his is mine, and CIC must have seen it the same way, because the extension was issued with no questions or problems. The exact line I used was, "I will be living with my husband during the length of my stay in Canada, and he will be paying for my upkeep and trip home at the end of my stay."
