Hello,

My wife received her confirmation of PR (outland). When she applied for PR, she had mentioned me as a non-accompanying dependent.

So I don't have the visa. She is planning to move to Canada in the month of November.

I want to travel with her initially to help her get settled there. I'm planning to apply for Visitor visa. Can anyone please assist me what is the right way to do it?

Note: She has not yet moved to Canada, she has the Confirmation of PR (She is not a permanent resident yet). I want to travel with her and be there for few days.

Questions:
1. Under what kind of category should I apply for visa ? Like visa for "Tourist purpose" or "To meet family member"?
2. Is she elegible to provide me an invitation letter (she is not a PR holder yet, she just has recieved Co PR)?

1. Tourist. you aren’t meeting anyone.
2. No. She is not living in Canada.
You need to show proof of ties to return, funds, travel history and reasons to travel.

Thank you for your response.

1. While applying for the tourist visa is it required to upload Flight & Hotel tickets?
2. Is it is required to show assets that I own (like car) to prove strong ties to return?
3. Do I need to buy travel insurance now itself or after getting the visa approved?

1. No. just post itinerary.
2. Ties to return are job letter with approved leave, properties, business registration, investments, investment properties. You have no family ties. A car is not a strong tie. You need to show funds in the bank to support your visit.
3. After.

Never buy a flight or pay for a hotel reservation until you know you have been approved for a TRV.

Thanks you so much for answering my queries!

Since I am applying visa for Tourist purpose, can I give reason as "I am travelling to Canada to help my wife who recently received her confirmation of PR to settle in a new country and also to explore Ontario and nearby attractions".

I'm worried if Visa officer may think I may not leave the country.

Would you like to share some tips/suggestions to make my application/case stronger.

Thanks you so much once again.

Yes you should specify this as well as include proof of ties to your home country including employment letter with approved leave. Yes there will be concerns that you plan on remaining in Canada and being sponsored inland. Your spouse should be prepared to come to Canada on their own if needed.
