I am a permanent resident of Canada. Now want to apply for my mother’s travel visa . Could anyone please help me with my following queries -

1. As a proof of funds can I give the house / land ownership paper in the name of my father. - I lost my father 2 years ago and we didn’t get a chance to change the name on paper - will visa officer accept this as a proof of fund and reason to leave Canada after visiting for few month while reviewing the travel / visitor visa application. Otherwise, she has sufficient liquid funds.

Please note my mother already has USA travel visa.

2. For a visitor visa do my mother has to go for a face to face interview in India?

3. Due to COVID the visa process is been delayed- now my mother is in India but in case my mother had to visit to USA while the visa application is in process will it affect the application anyways?

4. I am qualified to apply for super visa for my mother too. Should I apply for a visitor visa or directly a super visa?

I know the only difference is with super visa she can stay 2 years at a stretch where as with travel visa she can stay for 6 months at a stretch.

we are ok with both these visas - I was just thinking which one will process faster and easier.

Thanks for your reply.

this is the first time we are applying for Canada visa so she hasn’t done biometric before. However for us visa she had an interview 9 years ago.

Biometrics will create delays although offices have recently opened so you can now do biometrics in India. It is very unlikely that she will need to meet face to face. Medicals are needed for supervisa and possible for a TRV so the cost of a medical if she travels to the US may influence some of your decisions. It seems as though supervisas from India are being processed faster than a TRV. In terms of property ownership was the property left to your mother in a will? Your mother can visit the US while she wait for the supervisa but in general she needs to be able to show that she has strong ties to India and will be returning.
