My mother has a valid visitor visa which she used last year to visit canada and stay for 6 months. She went back to India and currently is in India.

Now I want to apply for Super Visa so that she can come back to Canada for an extended stay (6+ months).

For super visa application, CIC website lists form IMM5257E which is "Application for Temporary Visitor Visa". No where it says "Super Visa". Is this the correct form for super visa application?

I want to make sure as I do not want to apply again for short-term visitor visa.

So have you even opened IMM5257E and noticed in the question 'details of visit to Canada' the pull down option 1 'purpose of visit' has option to select Super visa for parents or grandparents ? A super visa is still a temp visitor visa regardless, allowed to visit no work.

I have a big problem.... my parents are i canada visiting my sisters, they applied for supervisa, they filled the form for IMM5257E and some places the form asked for extension questions , they paid $200 each for both for super visa, and $100 each for extension, they applied for the super visa on JANUARY 19TH, now last month ( March) they got a mail saying they got a extension but no news on super visa till. Now we are worried because they have taken insurance for $4000 and he paid for the supervisa also. He has spent so much money and no updates. We can't find a right person to guide us in CIC , where to call or who to write too.
Please some one help, we are desperate, I don't want my parents to be robbed out of there money....

Regarding insurance fee paid, worse situation - If you contact your insurance company, if supervisa isn't approved, you may be able to cancel or prematurely cancel it (if they leave Canada) and remaining amount refunded maybe with a processing fee.
