Got my study permit approval mail today(12Apr), applied on 25 Feb 2016 @ Vfs Bangalore.
My profile:
10th - 8.6 CGPA
12th - 87%
BBM - 9.5 CGPA
Ielts - L/R/W/S - 9/6.5/7.5/7

Got an email stating that my application for study permit is approved on 12april. But I had applied through papers not by email. My passport is still with them. I haven't received my passport back. Is that email my visa? When will i get my passport back?

That email you got is your Letter of Introduction. Print it out and take with you with your passport. You'll have your passport in 2 days. You'll be notified by VFS when to pick it up. A TRV will be on your passport which you'll use in reaching the Canada port of entry. Submit your passport and LOI and you get your permit.

Once you have your passport, there will be a sticker on it which is TRV - Temporary Resident Visa.
Book your ticket.
Board the flight.
Upon arrival, there will be an Immigration Desk.
Submit your passport. He/She will ask for your Letter of Introduction, submit it and VOILA, your Study permit will be given to you.

Applied from : VFS Mumbai
Visa approval : 13th April 2016.
Course start date: 7th May 2016.
College : Centennial College.

Received a study permit approval email from the VFS Bangalore office a few minutes back. I hope you guys get your confirmation soon! =)
