Visa extension- leave country

I have applied for my parents visa extension in July thinking there would be a third wave in India or flight issues… their stay expires on oct 11.. seeing everything is fine now, we got tickets to oct 18…
Can we leave Canada without any issues while the extension ia under process?
What documents do I need to show to prove that I have applied for extension as I am staying beyond 6 months?

Yes, they can leave.

There are no documents they need to show (or that you need to show). They can simply leave.

They should update IRCC when they left Canada so they hopefully don’t have to do another medical.
