Visa Details Clarification

Dear Pal,
I would like to clarify some doubts regarding my student permit, Please find bellow the details

1. My Passport expires on 27/01/2014, So I need to knew renew before expiry.. thats easy process.
My Program study length is 31 Jan 2015. But the visa given till 27 Jan 2014 (same expiry date of PP). So If I need to renew the Student permit once i get my new PP.. What are the procedures and any fees for that?

2. My Visa state that category S-1, Student, I've the CHC Invitation letter too without signed.. Is it normal like others... I dont see any TRV mentioned in Visa.

But I come to know from previous thread that.. CHC gives Invitation letter + stamps TRV.. at the time of Port of entry the Immigration Officer Stamps our Student Permit... Whats these different..

Kindly explain who are experience before..

Thats surprise.. PP is valid 6 months.. more than 6 months okay for you.. but not sure abt Student permit stamp.. even I received the same till my PP expiry date.

even I've my valid USA B1/B2 visa till 2017 in my PP, so when the time for renewal I have to mention "Do not cancel the old passport" since it got valid visa.. so that they will attach both as single one ;D

You must have alteast one year before to renew new PP, I tried b4 unfortunately they didn't accept that I too have more than 1 yr validity of PP.

well in my case the date of application was near by so i did not took the risk. you know Indian system. no guarantee when we get our PP in hand so applied without renewal

Yup.... But you can plan 15 days if u wish tatkal.. or else 30 days ordinary..

when was you though to start study in canada.. I suggest you guys pls prepare your self b4 1 year to 6 months..

They couldn't give you a visa till the end of your course because your passport expires before that and so they aren't legally allowed to do that. Once you're in Canada, you can apply for a study permit extension and a new TRV as well after you get your new passport. The fees will not be too much I think, its about $125 (so same like what you paid in INR this time).
What you received is a visa which is valid till a certain date, that's why it's called TRV, because the visa is temporary, it's not permanent. The letter of introduction you've received is not signed which is normal. Once you arrive at a port of entry in Canada, they will then take the introduction letter from you and give you a piece of document which is your study permit. Apart from that, they will stamp your passport with 'arrival' stamp which is normal when you arrive in any country. Once you depart from India, Indian immigration authorities with stamp your passport with 'departed' stamp. So you have a TRV, and once you land in Canada, you will get another piece of paper which will be your study permit.

TRV gives you permission to legally enter and stay in the country, so it's your travel document. Study permit gives you permission to study in Canada while you're in Canada.

You require both while you're in Canada.
You already have a TRV, the sticker in your passport is your TRV. You will get the study permit at the port of entry.

at the time of extension after new Passport.. is it enough my old university offer letter.. or do i need to get new one?
