Visa Application - Renew/re apply Please help

Hi. i would like someone to shed some light on this for me please if you may.

i have a little bro in jamaica he is 23. he works at a pre-school and has been employeed with them for 1.6yrs as a administrator.

he also been visiting here since 1997 on visitor visa regularly during summer his last visit was in 2008. and also the US since 1997 and last visit there was 2007. he was living in canada for 1.5 years goin to school here and got accepted into two universities but turned in his student visa because of the tuition was too high to afford. he went back to jamaica and studied computer science at a university for 4 years

he has around 1500cad in his bank account . he lives in st james. I am a permanent resident here in canada and ive sent him an invitation letter.

does he stand at a chance to apply for a trv?

Difficult to predict.

But because he visited in Canada and always went back- IMHO his chances to get visa are good. However, now he is an adult and he will need to show strong personal ties with Jamaica stronger than having a sister in Canada.

I also forgot to mention that he is engaged and he inherited a house from his mom. i made mention of his engagment on the invitation letter. is that enough ties. at 23 i dont think he can have more ties. To add he has had two visitor visas from canada and one student visa along with two visitor visas from US expired.

He was a child then . Now he is an adult. It makes a difference in terms of visas.
If he engaged why he is not going to Canada with his fiancee to visit? From Canadian point of view it is a little bit odd to travel alone in such circumstances.

wow never knew that would be a matter of concern. This visa thing is very tricky. But she does not have a visitor visa. she will be applying soon once he get his. She has a US visa tho

Why don't they apply together?

i would think it has somthing to do with the fact she has no relatives in canada. hence why she applied to US because her father lives there. Applying for visas can be very tedious

Turns out he applied on March 31st 2014. Now his status on the vac website is now Your current application status is Completed Application Package Returned to the VAC - Ready for Applicants Pick Up. Anxious to hear if he gets his visa

Today has the be the happiest. He got his visa (10yrs). Picked it up at the local DHL office. Thanks Regina for your help.
