I will be travelling outside of Canada before my visa and study permit expire. I will be applying for the TRV outside Canada, will I be issued a study permit again at the port of entry when I come back?

No don't go that way. Please apply ur study permit first and the ur TRV in Canada. Leaving canada and applying outside of anda is very risky. You might be refused. You can't trust these VO's

Do not go out of Canada unless u have ur TRV !!!!

U can go to the US without a TRV and return on a Study permit, but no where other than that.

Where are u planning to go ? The forum has a lot of people whos TRV hasn't been approved when they applied from outside Canada. They still havent completed their studies and are now STUCK !!!

I have to head back, I have applied for a TRV outside Canada before and have been approved. My question is should I just apply for a TRV and I should get my study permit at the port of entry when I come back to Canada?

If you thinking of entering Canada with expired Study permit. Then it's a very bad idea.
You won't get extension at the port of entry.
You have to apply in CPC Vegreville.

Good Luck,

You can apply for both at the same time. But dont leave the country unless you have the updated documents. You might land into trouble later on.
