After Interview, We received the below email for police certificate request. We have already submitted an RCMP police certificate from Canada with the initial application since my spouse has been in canada since she was 18 and did not reside in another countries for 6 months or more. Currently she is in vietnam after the interview there and has not been 6 months yet. Based on the below email, should I resubmit her canada police certificate and also include my own since this email is asking for one from the spouse as well? Also the email highlighted the Vietnam section to apply in person but my spouse has not resided in vietnam for over 6 months? DOes she has to do this even though we have a canada police certificate.
Also what is a household registration?
I find this a little bit shocking to be requesting all of this again and we have already included the police certificate from canada in our original application. It is also shocking because they only give 30 days to do this
This refers to your application for a permanent resident visa to Canada.
Please provide the following within 30 days.
- Original Good Conduct Certificate (or Certificate of No Criminal Record) from the police authorities of all countries where you, your spouse/common-law partner, and each of your dependent children who is 18 years of age and older, have resided for a period of six months or more since turning 18.
There may be more than one type of police certificate available in each country. To find out which certificate(s) you need and how to apply for them, visit the CIC Web site:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp
If you do not provide the correct type of police certificate, the processing of your application will be delayed. Police certificates are valid for one year from the date of issue. If you have already submitted a police certificate which is still valid, you do not need to submit a new one.
